Because CGL is a 1-person operation, and our fiscal sponsor FJC has to verify and process payments from over a hundred different winning bidders, please note: it will take up to 4 WEEKS after you've paid your invoices before we are able to start shipping out items to winning bidders in the 2022 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction! In order to avoid fraud, which sadly has been an issue for CGL in the past, we take extra time to confirm absolutely every aspect of each winning bidder’s payment information.
Full disclosure: because only one person is handling all auction packaging and shipping, the shipment of all CGL auction packages will take place in late April and early May 2022. We appreciate your patience in advance!
Shipping of all auction items will take place AFTER all payments have been received, confirmed and processed by FJC.
When possible, we combine shipping when multiple items are purchased by the same buyer. If one item requires a poster tube and another requires a box or flat, we will have to ship two separate packages to one buyer.
All domestic packages will be shipped via UPS, and include both insurance and tracking. (FYI: insurance is free for items valued up to $50, but we must pay $2-$8 more per package to insure items of higher value).
All overseas packages will be shipped via a carrier to be determined, and will include tracking. (FYI: international shipments are usually insured against loss, damage, or missing contents up to $200 – but it is prohibitively expensive to add on additional insurance).
To save money and help the environment, we use repurposed boxes and packaging for most auction shipments.
We are not able to ship liquid items outside of the United States, and due to the weight and size of certain items and packages – we can only ship those to a U.S. address as well. This will be noted in individual listings when applicable.
Shipping notifications with tracking info will be emailed to winning bidders when items are shipped out.
CGL has to adhere to international shipping restrictions. There are many countries that require prohibitively high customs fees when items arrive, so we try to avoid shipping there. On top of that, CGL has experienced stolen/lost shipments in several countries, and that cost comes out of our tiny operating budget. Therefore, please check the list of countries below that we are unable to ship to, before bidding in this charity auction. Thank you.
Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Burundi, China, Comoros, Congo, Cote D’ivoire, Cuba, Egypt, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, Gambia, Gibraltar, Greenland, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Korea (North and South), Kuwait, Lao, Liberia, Madagascar, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Montserrat, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Pitcairn, Reunion, Russia, Saint Helena, Saint Pierre & Miquelon, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Georgia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Syria, Tanzania, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Wallis & Futuna, Yemen.

**If you win an item in the 2022 CGL Online Charity Auction: PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT PAYMENT BEFORE YOU RECEIVE YOUR INVOICE FROM CGL, VIA EMAIL!!**
CGL will email itemized invoices to ALL winning bidders within 3 DAYS of auction close, including item totals + shipping costs.
In the email with your invoice, there will be a link to the Cancer Gets Lost PayPal account (the same one linked in the DONATE button on CGL's website), for winning bidders to complete payment.
**Please do NOT go directly to the PayPal site or app to make payment; you MUST use the PayPal link on our website in order for the winning bid payments to be made to our fiscal sponsor FJC, for them to process. If you try to make a payment via the PayPal site or app, FJC will never see or process it.
When you click on the Donate button on our website to pay for your auction item(s), please note: a new window or tab will open and it will say “Donate toFJC - A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds/Cancer Gets Lost.” That is the correct location to make payment! Our fiscal sponsor FJC oversees the CGL PayPal account exclusively.
PLEASE make sure that you enter the exact amount from your invoice when you make your PayPal payment! This includes winning bid amount(s) and shipping cost.
Payment is expected in full within 7 calendar days of the day the invoice is received. The only acceptable method of payment is PayPal, which must be made directly to the Cancer Gets LOST PayPal account, accessible externally and only on CancerGetsLost.org. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you will be able to use a credit card via PayPal.
**Make sure to PLEASE forward your PayPal email receipt to CGL so that we can start the invoicing process.
*Please include your shipping AND billing addresses in the email; we need both for shipping and tax receipt purposes! * Email: CGLauctions at gmail dot com
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the name on your PayPal account used to pay for your auction item is NOT your real full name (i.e. a nickname or name of business), you must let us know! CGL does not have access to our PayPal account, nor are we able to see any addresses associated with your PayPal account. Our fiscal sponsor FJC sends us a report of payments made to our PayPal account, but requires that they match the REAL FULL NAMES of winning bidders (for tax receipt purposes)!
CGL is a 501c(3)-sponsored organization. Our fiscal sponsor FJC, A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds, is a 501c(3) public charity that provides management of charitable giving for small organizations like ours. They oversee all of the financials for Cancer Gets Lost – including our PayPal account.
Accepted Payment Methods:
BY EITHER REGISTERING TO BID OR PLACING A BID, THE BIDDER ACCEPTS THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS OF SALE AND ENTERS INTO A LEGALLY, BINDING, ENFORCEABLE AGREEMENT WITH CANCER GETS LOST (“CGL”).
Bidder and Cancer Gets Lost agree that any agreements between the Bidder and CGL, including but not limited to these Conditions of Sale, are entered into in Dane County, Wisconsin, which is where the agreements are to be performed and the auction is to take place, no matter where Bidder is situated and no matter by what means or where Bidder was informed of the auction and regardless of whether catalogs, materials, or other communications were received by Bidder in another location. Both CGL and the Bidder agree that any disputes under these Conditions of Sale, the subject matter hereof, the entering into, or any aspect of the auction, shall be exclusively governed by Wisconsin law, and that any and all claims or actions shall be brought and maintained only in Dane County, Wisconsin in a State or Federal Court to the exclusion of any other venue, locale or jurisdiction. All parties submit to such jurisdiction.
1. Starting Bids: In addition to descriptive information, each entry in the catalog includes a starting bid, which is the price that starts the bidding for the item. Starting bids are prepared well in advance of the sale and can be subject to revision.
2. Advance Inquiries: Bidders are encouraged to send inquiries pertaining to the auction, as a whole and/or individual lot. You may also request condition reports. CGL strongly urges the bidder to resolve any questions PRIOR TO BIDDING.
3. Bidding: Property is auctioned in consecutive numerical order, as it appears in the catalog. Cancer Gets Lost shall determine all opening bids and bidding increments. The auctioneer has the absolute discretionary right to reject any bid in the event of dispute between bidders or if the auctioneer has doubt as to the validity of any bid, to advance the bidding and to determine the successful bidder in the event of a dispute between bidders, to continue the bidding or to reoffer and resell the lot in question. In the event of a dispute after the sale, CGL’s record of final sale shall be conclusive.
4. Internet Bids: Cancer Gets Lost is pleased to provide online bidding in real-time. However, CGL is not and cannot be responsible or liable for any problems, delays, or any other issues or problems resulting from use of the Internet generally or specifically, including but not limited to transmission, execution or processing of bids. On some occasions beyond the control of CGL, the bidding software or the Internet itself may not physically keep up with the pace of the auction. In order to help avoid disappointment, CGL recommends placing a realistic absentee bid as early as possible.
5. Successful Bids: The proverbial fall of the auctioneer’s hammer indicates the final bid. CGL will record the paddle number of the buyer. Winning bidders shall be notified with an invoice and payment instructions within 3 days following the conclusion of the auction.
6. Payment: Payment is expected in full within 7 calendar days of the day the invoice is received. This includes the final bid price + shipping cost. The only acceptable method of payment is PayPal, which must be made directly to the Cancer Gets LOST PayPal account (accessible externally, ONLY on CancerGetsLost.org). If you don’t have a PayPal account, you will be able to use a credit card via PayPal. The payments are directed to Cancer Gets LOST via their fiscal sponsor FJC, A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds. All payments must take place via the PayPal link on the CGL website, which directs winning bidders to the specific CGL PayPal account managed by FJC.
7. Shipping: Buyers are responsible for all shipping costs, including international custom fees, duties, broker charges, etc.
8. Buyer’s Remedies: As these items are rare collectibles, all sales are final.
DISCLAIMER: PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ITEMS IN THIS CATALOG ARE SOLD IN “AS IS” CONDITION, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
