Untitled laminated wood vessel by Pete Arenskov in rosewood & maple, measuring 9” h x 11” w x 2 3/4” d
Pete Arenskov is a third-generation woodworker with works in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
"I remember growing up in Copenhagen and running around my grandfather's workshop. He was a carpenter, sepcializing in building stairways. He only used hand tools - there were no machines in his shop. My father built a 32-foot sloop and sailed around the world the North Sea. He got caught in a storm, lost his mast, and floated two weeks before he was found. After being towed into shore in Norway, he cut down a tree to make a new mast and sailed home."
