Jay & Janet O’ Rourke, Untitled Box, cocobolo, ebony, tagua & glass, 12 1/2” h x 13” w x 7 1/4”
Inspiration for the O’Rourke’s boxes comes from a great love of containers, ancient architecture, Asian art, art deco, and nature. To them the woods are as rare as gold or diamonds, and the wood itself is a major design element in the work. Simple elegant design is used to showcase the beauty of contrasting woods. They have been working with wood since 1969.
An elegant container will make all of your treasures more prized, for dreams, sacred momentos, jewels and secrets.
